Vince (Gator) Cala, Buffalo New York Professional Boxer: “The Tough Little West Sider”
April 24, 1969, My father, Phil Ranallo, wrote this column about Buffalo New York Boxer Vinny Cala and Jimmy Ralston. I was a young kid sitting ringside for Vinny’s fight against Rudy Richardson. Vinny took a powerful hit to the ribs that would make most boxers hit the canvas. Vinny was not your average guy, please read my fathers column and learn about courage and determination.
Friday, august 13, 2004, Vince Cala was inducted into Buffalo Veteran Boxers Association Ring #44 Hall of Fame, copy of program above.
Vince Cala sparred with The Greatest, Muhammad Ali in Florida, read above.

I would see Mr. Cala from time to time on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo New York. He would talk about the old days and we would end my visit with “Street Side Boxing Lessons.” He was like a Lightning Bolt.
God Bless Vince Cala, Rest in Peace.
